Fr Gionata’s Farewell

Fr Gionata Pagani, or fondly referred to as Fr Jonathan, joined the St Kieran Parish family as a transitional deacon in August 2024. Originally from Piacenza, Italy, he first came to Perth with his parents Gian-Pietro and Caterina in 2001 as a missionary family for the Neocatechumenal Way. He was the second child of 14 siblings. He was ordained into the priesthood on 23 May 2025 at the St Mary’s Cathedral. On Sunday 5th October, he celebrated his farewell mass before moving to Daly River, Darwin to continue his missionary work.

After Mass parishioners gathered for a morning tea to thank him for his dedicated service at St Kieran and to wish him a fulfilling journey ahead.
